What our project is all about?

The project is about developing a new egg based product for Munax Oy. The product would be innovative, new kind of dessert, that fits the company's image. The developing process consist of product development and packaging design as well as marketing the product.
We will work closely with the company under their guidance, keeping in touch via Whatsapp and weekly meetings. We will also getting to know the company thoroughly and it's manufacture in Laitila.

After conducting multiple researches on food trends and consumers purchase habit, we have formulated some ideas where we can further explore and adjust to meet the project objectives.

During our research, there are several terms that keep popping up, which we have learnt to be important factors that we must take into consideration for our prototypes development.

From the idea tree above, you can see how we have listed the idea that we have come up with for this new product development (NPD) from production to purchase likelihood and marketing.


  • Production: We've learnt that the perception of consumers about eggs have been misled for several decades. Recent studies show that consuming eggs will not affect negatively on one's cholesterol level. While egg is essential nutrient source for our body, the variety of egg products is yet lacking. The way we consume eggs are still rather conventional and somewhat boring. Hence, the company and we as a team want to offer consumers a better and more fun way to consume eggs. 
  • Features: While being fun, we however want to maintain the company values by incorporating product values as premium and sophisticated yet convenience. The aim for this is to engage consumers to corporate values as well as establish a long-lasting relationship that goes beyond product's functionalities.
  • Launch: since the product will be created targeting non-cost sensitive consumers, we believe the demand for premium feel, sleek looking packaging design will go a long way. In addition, the break out of it old-school "shell", we feel a need to emphasize the Finnish quality eggs (Free from salmonella) and capture shoppers attention to this new innovative egg product by showcasing it in a well-designed booth/shelf.
  • Product Ideas: At the moment, we have explored and learnt the daily food consumption of Finnish consumers. Coffee is a must-have when Finns go about their day as we all know. Add to that, the festive season is bringing the smell of cinnamon and gingerbread. With that in mind, we are still exploring our options with hope to create the best egg based product possible that everyone would love.
