Market Research: Dairy Products
My assigments was to dig deeper on the wonderfull world of dairy products. Heres what my presentation included.
So first some basic info about the dairy products.
I think the most interesting fact in there is the severe decline in the liquid milk consumption. the reason for this could be the increasement of selection so consumers might prefer other drinks. Also some health benefits of milk have been debunked so consumers don't drink it just because of it's healt benefits.
So first some basic info about the dairy products.
•Products that contain milk of mammals,
primarily cattle, goats and sheep.
•Include food items like butter, cheese
and yoghurt
•Widely consumed around the world with
exception of much of East and Southeast Asia
Here's some facts about dairy product prices and production in Finland

Here's some fascinating facts about the positioning and aesthetics of the dairy products. The photos are taken from K-Market Pippuri. K-markets usually have the autonomy of choosing what
products they are selling (plus some standard predetermined products. This is interesting since for example the butter
selection consists of healthy plant based and less salty butters (with exeption of the
normal Oivariini). Same trend can be seen on the other cold cupboard with
the lack of unhealthy things like puddings (again with one exception. So why is this? My wild guess is the close proximity to
schools were people are more likely to prefer healthier lifestyles.
Finally there's an interestin misconsemption that many many people (especially in the USA) make, which is that consumers consider eggs to be part of the dairy products. This misconseption could be explained by the placement of the eggs in supermarkets and online stores and also deceptive images. For example try to google dairy product and be amazed by how many eggs you see among the og dairy products.
