Vili "I'm not good with snappy titles" Gyllström

Hello there! I'm Vili. I'm a 25-year-old chemical engineering student in Turku. I'm originally from Espoo, where I graduated from high school as well as vocational school, as a lab technician. I moved to Turku for my workplace training and after decided to pursue higher education.

I've been really into chemistry for years now, and recently I've acquired a fondness for the food industry and food engineering. I'm still somewhat open-minded towards the kind of work I'd be most into in food industry, but I'm sure I'll get a more clear view of my specific interests as my studies advance and we start our specialization course!

For now, I have experience working in the packaging plant of Eckes Granini Finland, and produce inspecting at Nestlé, both here in Turku. This has given me a grass roots view of food industry.


My other projects during my studies  have enhanced my skills in planning, designing and performing laboratory measurements and experiments, as well as taking care of scheduling, planning workload breakdowns as an assistant project manager. I have also taken an active role in presentations; both producing and performing them. I still have some work ahead of me in regards to performing independent research.

In addition to working on research skills, I expect many new experiences, lessons and connections from this Capstone project. I'm sure it won't always be easy, but in the end I'm sure it will be worth the effort!

On my days off I enjoy nature, animals, friends & connections, books, games, good food, film and I occasionally dabble in photography!
