This is Johanna!

My name is Johanna Reponen and I am a marketing student here in Turku. I have studied for two and a half year and hopefully will graduate next spring. Fingers crossed!

My interest is indeed in marketing. I find the field very interesting in it's versatile nature. Branding, customer value and needs, social media, graphic design, ad-campaign design, service design, product development, communication and so much more. I have studied little bit of this and little bit of that, so one can say that I have a good view for the whole field. I can bring some new ideas to the table, maybe from somewhere "else" and that way create some new interesting approaches. 

I did my practical training and worked for two years in HC TPS. HC TPS is an ice hockey team in the highest league level in Finland. There I saw the brutal impact of social media as well as the power of it. There were lots of different kinds of tasks during these years, I for example created social media posts, articles on the website, wrote emails to customers, build different kinds of events, participated in meetings, learned to use PhotoShop, was in charge of our mascot, communicated with supporters, players and coaches as well as staff in the office and cooperation partners. 

Last summer I worked in a retail store as a sales assistant. I worked in Motonet and had the outdoor section as my responsibility. There I participated in store designing a little bit and could see the marketing aspect from a brick and mortar aspect. Of course the job was also a lot of customer service and finding the answers to their questions and needs. That is very important in the field of business, in my mind!

As a city girl, born, raised and living in Turku, I do have some knowledge of the other side. I have been a scout since first grade and a leader in my scout group for several years now. I do enjoy exploring nature, going for a hike and having the time to think about our project and find new solutions for example.

As said, I have interest in many sections and have also been privileged enough to be a part of multiple different things. I enjoy learning and deepening my knowledge, exploring new but also finding comfort in already known things. But most important is to get things done and enjoy while doing it!
